Use books to help prepare your little learner for preschool

So your child is about to start preschool? Prepare them for the adventure.

There are many things you can do as a parent or caregiver to prepare your little one for preschool! Whether you reinforce self-help skills, work on the art of give and take conversations, or make play dates with other children to encourage relational skills, one key is to keep mentions of school casual.

For children about to embark on a new adventure that requires a change in schedule and routine, two weeks is usually enough prep time to keep their excitement high and their anxiety low. Reading books that highlight what he or she can expect is one great way to ease worry and grow confidence.

Here are a few recommendations featuring supportive stories, friendly characters, and vibrant pictures from Very Well Family.
